The Gathering Place Mission provides the only men’s homeless shelter in Scott County. In addition to the men’s shelter, we also serve as a community kitchen, through our Emmaus Kitchen, to those in the community who otherwise might not have a hot meal.
We are also excited to report that after a lot of prayer, hard work by our wonderful volunteers, and lots of fund-raising, we were able to open our Women’s Shelter at the end of December 2017.
Our primary goals for 2018 are to continue providing shelter and support for homeless men and women and to provide at least one hot meal each day of the week.
The Gathering Place Mission will continue to address drug addiction problems in our community and to be a place where individuals can find new hope and get their feet back on the ground.
Our mission is to share God’s Plan and love one another; to offer food, meet personal needs, provide emergency shelter, case management, and service referrals to connect with appropriate resources to enable a person to move from shelter dependency to self-sufficiency in the Scott County community.
We follow the passage of Matthew 25:35-45. [Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.]
The Gathering Place Mission is a 501(3)c non-profit organization located in Georgetown, Kentucky.
