A Sanctuary for Women Seeking Safety and a Fresh Start

In 2018, we opened our first Women's and Children's Shelter, creating a sanctuary for women and their children seeking safety and a fresh start. Initially, we were able to support 20 individuals, but today, or capacity has grown, and in the very near future, we will open our second shelter to extend our reach even further.

A Safe Space for Women and Children

We welcome women and their children, aged 17 and under, into a secure, nurturing environment where they can begin rebuilding their lives. At The Gathering Place, we focus on more than just providing shelter - we offer the tools, resources, and guidance necessary for women to achieve self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.

A Community of Support

Our shelters provide a peaceful, positive atmosphere where healing and growth take center stage. We are proud to be a drug and alcohol-free community, yet we warmly welcome those seeking support for substance use recovery. Together, we walk hand-in-hand with our residents, working as tirelessly for their success as they do.

Building Futures, Restoring Dignity

Our mission is simple but profound: to help women and families achieve their goals, realize their dreams, and build the life they want to live. Through personalized support, skill-building opportunities, and compassionate care, we empower women to break the cycles of hardship and create lasting change for themselves and their children.

My daughter and I made up 82 nights stay during Christmas 2021. She'd just learn to walk and the person I lived with decided to attack me. I went 26 hours hostage with my daughter and when someone finally called the police, they showed up and dismissed charges because, "The kid is more mature than you are" and I dont even know what that means. They said they're not taking anyone to jail 2 days before Christmas. so I left, with nothing but my car and my daughter. And The Gathering Place kept us warm for nearly 3 months. We still consider many there as mothers and even if we don't talk anymore I look up to them and follow their advice.
