This summer, we’re inviting you to be part of something simple but powerful—Yards of Hope, a community-wide initiative that turns yard sales into a force for good.
Through the generosity of neighbors like you, we’re transforming ordinary garage and yard sales into opportunities to bring safety, shelter, and hope to those experiencing homelessness. Whether you’re cleaning out your home, gathering your friends for a group sale, or hosting one on your own, your yard sale can make a lasting difference.
Here’s how to get started:

- Pick a date, gather your goods (and maybe some friends or neighbors), and host your sale like usual
- Let shoppers know it’s part of Yards of Hope
- Donate some or all of your proceeds to The Gathering Place Mission
We’ll make it easy—we’ll provide signs, flyers, and all the materials you need to share your purpose and spread hope in your neighborhood.

On February 22, our community came together for the Coldest Night of the Year walk, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible support! Despite the chilly weather, dozens of participants joined us to raise awareness and funds for those experiencing homelessness in Georgetown, Kentucky. A special thank you goes out to the Loyal Ladies Group, whose dedication and fundraising efforts made a tremendous impact! Their generosity and commitment to our mission helped ensure The Gathering Place can continue providing shelter, support, and hope to those in need. From all of us at The Gathering Place—thank you! Your kindness reminds us that, together, we can bring warmth and hope to our community, no matter how cold the night may be.
